So you've posed the question, "How do you get people to grasp the concept and power of new media and the internet?"

I don't know that you can convince them that the internet and new media will make things happen for them. You'll probably have to show them. Sometimes that's the best way to introduce a new concept is with results. If you're capable of doing these things, which you obviously are, then you can offer to do it for them.

They understand mailers and traditional media. This is a new tool int the traditional media bag. It's called NEW media. New media, meet traditional media. The concept is still the same. Connect and entice, buy into the product. New media just means more personal connection.

You said it when you expressed their familiarity with you. You may need to bring someone else in to do that if you're set on teaching them these concepts. It would likely have to be someone new to them that they'd be willing to take seriously. In understanding new media they need to understand that they have to be interactive... And be *willing* to be interactive. Personally, I'd like to see you guys do some kind of podcast (expressing your personalities by speaking to each other and responding to eventual listeners as well as performing live short demo pieces here and there) or even a video podcast which I think would go over pretty well.

The good thing about a podcast or video podcast is that 99% of the time, the broadcast isn't live. I bring that up because then they can be assured that it can be tweaked, edited and even acted if needs be.
