Say it with Pictures

4-AM Photoshoot Banner

Hi there, just a quick couple of updates, last Sunday, September 21, we got together and did a Photoshoot in St. Charles, IL. While we don’t have all the pictures yet, we do have some of them back. You can see them on our Sights and Sounds page. Take a look and tell us what you think. We’re going to be using some for our official ‘head shots’, but we’ll still show all of the finished products to you here on the site. We’ll just keep adding them as we get them. Also, if you have a Facebook account, we have a new 4-AM page there. Come become a fan there too!

Say it with Pictures originally appeared on 4-AM on 25 September 2008.

069 – Photoshoots, Concerts and Websites

recorded 18 September 2008

Discussed in this episode of With A Voice Like This:

If you’re free and in the Schaumburg, IL area this Sunday, September 21, you can check out  AcappellaFest 2008. It’s a concert featuring four Chicago area a cappella groups with special guest Scott Leonard of Rockapella (you may remember them as the singing group on the TV show “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?”). Check out the link for more information.

4-AM
We’re doing a photoshoot this Sunday, so if you follow me on Twitter or Plurk, you’ll see some updates and even a few poor quality pictures of the shoot as it’s happening. Also coming up in the week ahead, we’ll be doing a gig at the Palmer House in Downtown Chicago as The Garden Club once again, so you’ll be getting some tweets and plurks around that too.

At Any Rate
This was all about websites that offer new services and communities. The first one is ReviewYou.com from Ariel Hyatt and it’s about getting a review from a professional Music reviewer within a guaranteed 15 business day turnaround time.

The second site is MixMatchMusic.com, which is taking a new approach to the musician community which allows for collaboration with other musicians, get new listeners and allow for anyone to remix all while making sure the musicians are paid for their work. Check it out and let me know what you think of it too.

Looking Ahead
Next week will be a special show since I’ll have Paul Natkin the Interim Executive Director of the Chicago Music Commission as a guest. We will be discussing the Event Promoter Ordinance I first talked about in Episode 054 – The City of Chicago vs. Live Music. The Chicago Music Commission is a charitable organization (501(c)3) that first discovered the proposed ordinance and brought it to the attention of the music community and public at large and is now working with the city on this ordinance. We’ll have a lot to talk about in this show.
