Goodrich Fri, 11 Nov 2011 18:18:51 +0000 http://withavoicelikethis.com/?p=348#comment-1004 Burdette (given name shortened at time of service since with an ‘e’ on the end is made him appear female), had six medals, including purple heart, Air medal with clusters and the DFC (with cluster) the USAF’s equivalent of the Silver Star. Our family felt as if he died twice….first in the Japanese Prison camp in Burma and the second when the airplane carrying his remains to India for transport to WA. went down as it was flying from Burma.

Our parents and other family member, as well as those who lose a loved one today, never fully recovered from the shock. So we feel empathy for those still on the ‘missing’ lists.
